Bus transportation is now being offered to students that were previously designated as walkers. This option is available except where adjacent sidewalks are available and/or students do not have to cross the street. (This does not apply to out of county students or students with an approved hardship waiver.)
If you would like for your student to be picked up by the bus instead of walking, contact our Transportation Department at (229) 387- 2470.

As you are making plans to support all of the upcoming fall sports, don't forget about our new Clear Bag Policy for all athletic venues. See the image for details. #4theT

SAVE THE DATE! Based on the feedback we received, Graduation 2025 is scheduled for Thursday, May 22nd, 7:15pm, at Brodie Field. #4theT
A special THANK YOU to the 133 people who responded to our Community Feedback survey regarding the TCHS 2024 Graduation ceremony. These are some highlights from the responses received:
Likes:
Day and Time: Overwhelmingly, responders liked that this year’s ceremony was held in the evening with a large majority specifically noting a preference for Thursday, and the ceremony was not rushed to avoid the heat.
Practice: Students who responded liked having the first day of practice at the PAC and the second day at Brodie Field the morning of the ceremony.
Programs: Liked not having at the event but being able to pick up at a later time.
Seating: Unlimited seating at Brodie Field
Dislikes:
Crowd noise (needs to be controlled better, escort out those that do not follow rules)
People walking in after processional begins
Better Song (Senior Song is selected and voted on by the senior class)
Programs not available (Note: we are unable to print programs until final list of graduates is available)
Not all graduates have photos on the jumbotron (Note: all graduates are encouraged and reminded throughout the year to have their picture taken (at no cost) at BPI for this purpose).
Offer more options for place and time in case of weather (Note: contingency plan has been developed)
Suggestions:
Later start time (The time is being moved for the 2025 ceremony).
Clear Bag Policy (This will be implemented in the 2024-25 school year for events at all of our athletic venues).
Special Hearts Graduates to be included (All TCHS graduates in good standing are allowed to participate in the ceremony - students/parents may choose not to participate).
Open gates earlier (This has been addressed for the 2025 ceremony).
Parking (Shuttle options are being considered).
Fireworks (Consider as an alternative to confetti for the evening ceremony).

Olga Lira Torres, a rising sophomore at TCHS, was selected to participate in this year’s Georgia Migrant Education Summer Leadership Program recently held at VSU.
Olga, who came to the U S from Mexico in January, is also in the ESOL program at TCHS. We are proud to have her representing Tift County at this event. #4theT
